Setting Up Device Abutment for Virtuoso XL Layout Editor
If you do not want constraints to have any influence on interactive moves, turn onignore.
You can also activate constraint enforcement with the Constraint Assisted Mode option in the Virtuoso XL Options form.
Note: If you move abutted devices in the layout editor, the abutment group is broken but the contacts are left as if they are still abutted.
Using Device Abutment
When you are ready to use device abutment during the creation of a layout, see “Manually Abutting Devices Using Pick from Schematic” on page 180.
When you are ready to use device abutment while you are editing a layout, see “Using Interactive Device Abutment” on page 226.
