1.Theme: Fundamentals of Ecological Genetics

2. Objective: To generate in students the knowledge of the impact of environmental changes caused by pollution of mutagenic and carcinogenic factors in the genetic health of the population

3. Learning objectives:

- To familiarize students with the concepts of ecological genetics, pollution, pollutants;

- To reveal the essence of ecological genetics as a modern science that studies the genetic consequences of environmental pollution;

- To reveal the causes and mechanisms of specific diseases (environmental illness) caused by environmental pollution by certain physical and chemical factors;

- To reveal the mechanisms of action of pollutants on the genetic material of living organisms (human);

- Provide students with the health of the population living in areas of ecological trouble (Semipalatinsk nuclear test site, the Aral Sea region);

- To teach students to use their knowledge to analyze the environmental situation in the region of practical medical work to identify the main environmental factors that have a harmful impact on human health, including genetic;

- To familiarize students with the basic legislative acts in the field of environmental protection.

4. Key questions the theme:

4.1. Ecology, identification. Relationship of ecology and genetics.

4.2. Pollution. Environmental contaminants, the classification of the action.

4.3. Genetic aspects autoekological relationships. The influence of environmental hazards on human health:

               a) climatic conditions

b) the nutrients and food additives

c) physical factors and the poisoning of metals

4.4. Genetic aspects synecological relations:

              a) the sensitivity to biological agents

4.5. Medical Aspects of Human ekogenetic

               a) environmentally caused diseases (endemic diseases)

               b) ekogenetic and "occupational disease".

4.6. Environmental pollution, the impact on public health in areas of environmental

       disadvantage of Kazakhstan (Semipalatinsk nuclear test site, the Aral Sea region, etc.).

5. Teaching methods: a combined method of teaching (interview, filling out tables, the decision of situational problems)
