  1. Theme: Introduction to Molecular Biology. Molecular Principles of Heredity

  1. Object: Form understanding by students of the role of molecular biology in the modern medicine, significance of molecular biology achievements for clarification of the cause and mechanisms of development of hereditary diseases based on deciphering of the structure and functions of nucleic acids.

  1. Educational Tasks:

Familiarize the students with:

  • the history of the Chair, rules and requirements of the Chair;

  • the syllabus, educational-methodical complex (EMC) of the course

  • the policy of the course

  • the methods of education and criteria of evaluation of students’ knowledge and skills (lectures, practical training, intermediary and final control, independent student’s work (ISW);

  • todetermine the initial level of knowledge of students in general biology.
