  1. Theme: Realization of Hereditary Information. Dna Replication

  1. Object: Form understanding by students of modern ideas and knowledge about molecular mechanisms and laws of realization of hereditary information in living organisms, principles and mechanisms of DNA replication.

  1. Educational Tasks:

  • to form students’ understanding of the role of DNA in storage, transmission, and realization of hereditary information;

  • to explain students the essence of realization of hereditary information and its significance in functioning living organisms;

  • to form students’ knowledge about peculiarities of realization of hereditary information in different living organisms;

  • to explain students the role and the significance of impairment of mechanisms of realization of hereditary information and occurrence of hereditary diseases and ageing.

    1. Directions and types of transmission of hereditary information in living organisms.

    2. Principles of DNA replication.

    3. Peculiarities of replication of leading and lagging DNA chains.

    4. Principal ferments taking part in replication and their functions.

    5. Causes, mechanisms of occurrence and elimination of replication errors.

    6. Biological and medical significance of DNAreplication errors.
