ADD TITLES, LOGOS, & EMBELISHMENTS |
Use the Text Box, Image, and Shape tools to add titles and logos to your report. Even though the Shape dropdown only offers a rectangle, there is an option to format the rectangle with rounded edges.

DON'T FORGET TO SAVE YOUR FILE!
The File menu in Power BI Desktop does not have the word File on it. Open the dropdown where the File menu should be and save your work as a PBIX file.
SHARE YOUR DASHBOARD TO POWER BI IN THE CLOUD
Click the Publish icon in Power BI Desktop. The report will be uploaded to your Power BI account.

USE QUICK INSIGHTS |
|
Once your data has been published to the cloud, you can run Quick Insights. This feature is brand new in October 2016. It is based on algorithms from Microsoft Labs. It feels reminiscent of the Recommended
Pivot Table feature introduced in Excel 2013. As time goes by, the logic will likely improve.

Q&A WORKS ON DASHBOARDS, NOT REPORTS
To be able to use the Q&A feature, you have to promote your report to dashboard. From the report, select Pin Live View. Specify that you want to create a new dashboard.

After saving as a dashboard, open the Dashboard from the left navigation panel. Click in the Q&A box to type questions about your data.

SHARE A DASHBOARD WITH YOUR MANAGER
Right-click a dashboard name in the left navigation and choose Share. In the right panel, specify an e-mail address. Choose if that person can share the dashboard with others or not.

Problem: Anyone with the sharing link can access our dashboard? Isn't that dangerous?
Strategy: Yes. You, me, and a lot of other people are waiting for an "On Premise" version of Power BI.
CONSUME YOUR DASHBOARD USING POWER BI MOBILE
There are apps for Android and IOS. Sign in on your mobile device and you can consume and interact with your dashboards on your phone or tablet.
WHAT DOES ALL OF THIS COST?
It is free. Until you go past 1 GB of data. Until you need to refresh hourly instead of daily, all of this is free.
If it spreads like wildfire in your company. If you go beyond those limits, then the price is about $10 per person per month.
