Jack did not have a lot of luck yesterday. When he was going out of his apartment block, he was hit on the head with a ball, which one of his neighbours had put on a windowsill. While he was walking to the underground station, a dog bit him. So he decided to go by bus instead. While he was waiting for the bus, a bee stung him, and when he stepped onto the road a car almost ran over him. While he was standing in a queue, somebody stole his wallet with almost all his money and credit cards. Jack got upset and took a taxi. The taxi got into a traffic jam, and Jack was almost an hour late for his work.
To make things worse, while he was entering his office building, a boy delivering newspapers was in such a rush that he knocked Jack down.
When Jack finally got to work, his boss yelled at him for being late.
During lunch break he went to have lunch with a friend at a restaurant far from the office. They had a very good time there, but he was an hour late for his work again. And his boss yelled at him again. To crown it all, he fired the poor guy.
When Jack got back home in the evening, he decided to watch a late night horror movie on TV. But after this he could not manage to fall asleep because of the terrible nightmares all night long.
It certainly was not Jack’s day…

We study at Kharkiv Trade and Economics College. I am proud to be a student of this educational institution, because it is famous for its high standard of training and prestige. It was founded in 2005. The graduates of our college become experts and specialists, who make trade and business in Kharkiv.
There are four departments at our college. They are: the Department of Economy, the Department of Technology, Management and Tourism, the Correspondence Department and Preparatory Courses Department. They train economists, book-keepers, financiers, tradesmen, and managers, managers of the hotel business, technologists of food and technologists of meat products.
Economists study and explain how individuals, businesses and nations use their available economic resources. They also study ways of doing business and suggest methods for making more efficient use of employees, equipment, factories and other resources.
Book-keepers or accountants make calculations and registration of material values. They work at the supermarkets, shops, factories and plants. No business firm can function without book-keepers.
Financiers deal with financial documents and currency. They supervise money circulation and resources. They usually work in banks.
Trade and business are impossible without tradesmen. They are specialists in merchandise and marketing. They must know everything about goods they buy or sell.
Managers who make a new generation of specialists usually run and supervise production lines, trade and service industry. They work as executives in hotels, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, tourist agencies.
Technologists of food make everything we eat and drink. Our food must be tasty and appetizing. They work at restaurants, cafes and in food industry.
Technologists of meat products must know everything about different kinds of meat, about its keeping, canning and processing.
The course of study at our college is 2 or 2,5 years. At the end of each term students have to take examinations and tests. If they pass all of them successfully, they get diplomas.
Students study a lot of special and general subjects: Ukrainian and foreign languages, history of Ukraine, political economy, law, chemistry, Maths, statistics and others.
There is a big hostel near the college where the out-of-town students live.
The atmosphere in our college is friendly and business-like.
The teaching staff and administration are experienced and do their best to make the students good specialists. The college is roomy, comfortable and clean. There we have classrooms, modern laboratories, a computing centre, a library, a gymnasium and so on. Our students get acquainted with their future job during the probation work at the best enterprises
