With constant growth of economic activity in this country, the profession of manager is getting more and more important.
What are the main functions of a manager? He performs planning, organizing, leading and controlling.
At the stage of planning the manager chooses an organizational mission and then determines the courses of actions to achieve them. These may be programs, projects, methods, systems, strategies.
At the stage of organizing the manager determines, what resources are required, and delegates the authorities to employees. The employees should carry out the manager’s instructions.
The function of leading means that the manager gets them do the things he has planned. This function can be performed in the face-to-face manner or through written orders and job descriptions.
The last function is controlling. Forms of control commonly used by managers are inspecting, progress reports and financial statements.
Management should be efficient and effective. An efficient manager is the one who gets higher output relative to the input.
To become a top specialist, the manager should posses not only professional, but also positive personal traits.
