I I. Read the text and be ready to the tasks:
First of all let me introduce myself. I am Olya Orlova. I am Ukrainian. I was born in Kharkiv. My family is neither large nor small. There are five of us – my mother, my father, my brother, my sister and I. We are an average Ukrainian family. Our family is very friendly. My mother is rather slender, blue-eyed and dark-haired. She is good-natured and an easy-going person. She is a teacher of English at the University. My father is an engineer. He is very experienced and has a senior position at his office. He is tall, dark-eyed and fair-haired. He is also handy with many things. My parents are 45. They have much in common, but they have different views on music, books, films and sports. My parents have two more kids besides me. Thus I have an elder brother Konstantin and a younger sister Olga. My sister is a schoolgirl in the ninth form. She does well at school and gets only good and excellent marks. My brother is five years my senior. So he is twenty-two already. He is married and has a family of his own. He works as a credit inspector at the State Bank. His wife Nina is a telephone-operator. They have a daughter, who was born two years ago and now the pet of our family. My grandparents are have already retired, but they are still full of life and energy. I have many relatives – aunts, uncles, cousins.
At the age of seven I went to the secondary school. After finishing school I entered Kharkiv Trade and Economics College. I successfully passed my entrance exams and now I am a first-year student. І am going to be a technologist. I study many special and general subjects. I attend lectures, seminars and practical classes. I live far away from the college. That’s why I usually get there by subway and trolley-bus. I am interested in books and movies and I watch a lot of films on TV in the evening. Sometimes I go to a dancing or a party where I meet my friends and mates. From time to time I go to the cinema or to the theatre or visit my relatives. In three years I shall graduate from my college and I’ll work in the field of food industry. I think my speciality is very interesting and it is important and necessary for people.
