(1)Vessels inward·bound:

(a)Pilotage is compulsory except for the following:

(i)Vessels of the Royal Saudi Navy

(ii)Saudi Government non-commercial vessels

(iii)Vessels less than 150 GT

(iv)Port craft

(v)Pleasure yachts

(b)Notice of ETA: Vessels must send ETA on departure from previous port, 5 days, 48h and 24h in advance

(c)Vessels calling at Ad Dammam port should apply to the Port Author~ for permission to berth. This application should be submitted by telex through the local agent.

When necessary weather reports and notices regarding aids to navigation are broadcast to vessels on VHF Ch 12 following an announcement on VHF Ch 16.

PROCEDURE:

(1)Vessels Inward·bound:

(a)Pilotage is compulsory for all vessels calling at any of the terminals. Harbour pilots are also available.

(b)Notice of ETA: Vessels must send ETA at Ra'sTannOrah Entry Lt buoy (27"05'·00N50 0 23'·00E)72h, 48h and 24h in advance to Saudi ARAMCO. The message should then be followed by an accurate ETA immediately on departure from previous port.

(c)Vessels should contact Ra'sTanniirah Port Control on VHF Chs 16 or 10 when 100 nmiles from Ra'sTannOrah/Ra'sal Ju'aymahfor anchoring, boarding and berthing instructions. Tankers should provide the following information:

(i)ETA al Ra'sTanniirah entry buoy

(ii)Last port of call

(iii)Oxygen content in cargo tanks

(iv)Status of previous defects if any

(v)Current defects

(d)Reporting: Vessels should report to Ra'sTannOralh Port Control on VHF Ch lOon passing the following Reporting Points:

(i)Ra'sTanniirah Lt buoy (27"06"00N 5Qo57'·00E)

(ii)RTE 2 Lt buoy (26°47'·00N50 0 34'·00E)

(iii)Entry Lt buoy (27" 05'·OON50 °23'·OOE)
