My favourite shop

This week, Jo Greig describes her favourite shop

My favourite shop in the world is the Calleries Lafayette in Paris. It’s a long way from my home in London, but the train to Paris is very fast. The shop is very large, with ten floors, and the building is very beautiful. At Cristmas, they have coloured lights on the walls.

It sells everything. I go there because there are four floors of women’s fashion. They have all the famous brands, but they have less expensive things, too. They have a fantastic shoe department, as well.

On my last visit, I bought a Gianfranco Ferre floral dress. I also got a floral jacket. They cost a lot of money! I wore them at my sister’s wedding last year.

Grammar: Present perfect + yet, just, already.

A Have you finished your homework yet? B No, not yet. I haven’t finished yet.	A Would you like a coffee? B No thanks. I’ve just had one.	A Do you want to see this film? B No, I’ve already seen it three times.
Use yet + the present perfect in negative and question sentences to ask if something that you think is going to happen has happened or to say it hasn’t happened. Put yet at the end of the sentence.	Use just in positive sentences to say that something happened very recently. Put just before the main verb.	Use already in positive sentences to say that something happened before now or earlier than expected. Put already before the main verb.
