P: I have a bad toothache.

D: Open your mouth, please.

The dentist took a probe and a dental mirror and examined the patient's

teeth.

D: Have you any pain in this tooth? P: Yes, I have.

D: It is a decayed tooth and I must fill it. I'll use a dental drilling machine. But it is not painful. Today I shall put only a temporary filling. But, does this tooth hurt you?

P: Yes, it does.

D: Your tooth is working loose and the root of the tooth is damaged. I must extract it. So today I shall extract this tooth and in two days I'll put a filling in that one.

P: Oh, doctor. I am afraid.

D: Don't be afraid. I'll give you an injection. You will not feel any pain. In ten minutes .I'll take the dental forceps and everything really will be all right.

P: Thank you, Doctor. I am sure now that everything really will be all right.

Р.: У меня плохие зубы.

D: Откройте рот, пожалуйста.

Стоматолог взял зонд и стоматологическое зеркало и осмотрел пациенту

зубы.

D: Есть ли у вас боли в этом зубе?Р.: Да, есть.

D: Это гнилой зуб, и я должен его запломбировать. Я буду использовать стоматологическую бормашину. Но это совсем не больно. Сегодня я буду ставить только временную пломбу. А этот зуб болит?

Р.: Да, это так.

D: Ваш зуб не рабочий и корень зуба поврежден. Я должен удалить его. Так что сегодня я буду удалять этот зуб, а через два дня я запломбирую первый зуб.

Р.: Ох, доктор. Я боюсь.

D: Не бойтесь. Я сделаю обезболивающий укол. Вы ничего не почувствуете. Через десять минут. Я возьму стоматологические щипцы, и все действительно будет хорошо.

Р.: Спасибо, доктор. Я уверен, что теперь все действительно будет хорошо.

Diabetes

This ailment, considered hereditary, can afflict persons of any age, though mainly those who are inactive. When the pancreas fails, the sugar gets into the blood stream in excess quantities.

The bigger part of the pancreas sends its secretion to the small intestine. The smaller part secretes insulin directly into the blood. The conversion of starch into glucose is called carbohydrate metabolism. Glucose is converted into glycogen as a fuel for bodily purposes.

When the starch is not converted into such fuel, because of excess sugar intake or insufficient production of insulin by a diseased pancreas, it enters the blood stream. The kidneys are then unable to strain the excess sugar and excrete it through the urine. Thus a vital ingredient of your food, carbohydrates, which runs the body dynamo, is wasted.
