Throttle Body Assy

CAUTION

Never drop the injector, especially on a hard surface. Such a shock to the injector can damage it.

•Pull out the injectors along with the delivery pipe [A].

If necessary, remove the injectors from the delivery pipe. Replace the O-rigs of the indicators.

If necessary, cut straps and take the harness off the delivery pipe.

Throttle Body Assy Assembly

○Replace the O-rings [A] of injectors and the seals [B] with

•the new ones.

Before assembling, blow away dirt or dust from the throttle

•body and delivery pipe by applying compressed air. Apply engine oil to the new O-rings of each injector [C], insert them into the delivery pipe [D] and confirm whether

•the injectors turn smoothly or not.

Install the injectors along with the delivery pipe assy into the throttle bodies [E].

Torque - Delivery Pipe Screws: 3.4 N·m (0.35 kgf·m, 30 in·lb)

•Connect all the connectors [A], including the subthrottle valve actuator connector [B] and bind the leads with

•straps [C].

•Insert the each hoses onto the throttle body fittings. Install the throttle body assy (see Throttle Body Assy Installation).

Air Cleaner

Element• Removal/Installation

Refer to the Air Cleaner Element Cleaning in the Periodic

Maintenance chapter.

Air Cleaner Oil Draining

A drain hose is connected to the bottom of the air cleaner to• drain water or oil accumulated in the cleaner part.

Visually check the drain hose [A] if the water or oil accumulates.

If any water or oil accumulates in the hose, remove the plug [B] from the drain hose and drain it.

WARNING

Be sure to reinstall the plug in the drain hose after draining. Oil on tires will make them slippery and can cause an accident and injury.

Air• Cleaner Housing Removal

Remove the engine (see Engine Removal/Installation chapter).

○•The throttle body assy is removed during engine removal.

•Remove the right and left air cleaner housing bolts. Move the air cleaner housing [A] forwards and remove it from the right side of the frame.
