Пособие «The customs of Having Meals: Russian, Mordovian and English Cuisine» предназначено для студентов филологических факультетов и факультетов иностранных языков. Оно подготовлено в рамках реализации процесса регионализации в обучении иностранным языкам в национальном вузе. Изучение английской культуры, традиций в сравнении с русской культурой, включающей информацию о мордовской культуре и традициях, является основой межкультурного подхода к лингвистическому образованию.
Лексически пособие построено на использование в речи аутентичной, англоязычной лексики соответствующего значения и лексики, которая не имеет эквивалентов в английском языке, поэтому представлена в латинице без перевода, например, pelmeni, shchi, rassolnik, okroshka. Тема «Meals» сопровождается большим количеством заданий и упражнений, направленных на формирование и закрепление навыков составления рассказа, умения задавать вопросы и отвечать на них.
Новизна данного пособия заключается в том, что в нем наиболее полно отражен материал о национальных особенностях приема пищи русских, мордвы и англичан, и содержит разные виды деятельности, которые мотивируют учебный процесс и помогают изучить новую лексику.
