  • WARMING UP

  • Explain the saying. The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.

  • CONSOLIDATION. Speak about leisure activities: Swimming, football, playing the guitar, skiing, surfing the Internet, skateboarding, snowboarding, yoga.

  • Which of the leisure activities can you do? Which of these things don’t you enjoy. Why?

  • GOING TO; Present continuous for future arrangements [1. p.130]

    • You can also use the present continuous for future arrangements which we have planned for a fixed time or place.

  • People are fond of traveling. They spend their holidays traveling. They travel to see other countries and continents, to learn a lot about people’s traditions, to enjoy picturesque places. It is interesting for them to discover new things, different ways of life, to meet different people, to try different food.

  • These are many ways of traveling - by train, by plain, by ship, on foot. Everyone chooses his favourite one. My favourite way is traveling by plain. And not because it is very comfortable. It is exciting. I also like traveling by train. When you are in the train you can see the beauty of nature.

  • Travelling by ship is also very popular now. It is very pleasant to feel the deck of the ship under the feet, to see the rise and fall of the waves, to feel the fresh sea wind blowing in the face and hear the cry of the seagulls.

  • Many people like to travel by car. It is interesting too, because you can see many filings in a short time, you can stop when and where you like, you do not have to buy tickets or carry your suitcases.

  • A very popular method of travelling is hiking. It is travelling on foot. Walking tours are very interesting. Hitch-hiking is a very popular method of travelling among young people.

  • As for me I’d like to have a coach tour to some foreign country. Coach tours are planned and I’ll have a chance to do a lot of sightseeing and have a good rest at the same time.
