V. – Read an extract from a company’s presentation.
I’d like to tell you a little about some of The Index Group’s activities. One of the divisions is Index Engineering. This consists of three groups covering (охватывать) North America, Europe, and Asia. The three Executive Vice Presidents report to the President and Chief Operating Officer. He, in turn, is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer. This is my division and I am in charge of promotions. I am responsible for ensuring that people get to hear about our projects, and I also show clients round (сопровождать) our headquarters.
The second division is Index Publications, which publishes (печатать) all kinds of scientific magazines as well as a number of different types of specialist magazines. There are three major publishing units based in New York, Chicago and Boston. Now let’s look at the third division of the company. Index Systems has recently merged (сливаться, поглощать) with Futura Software development to form this new division, which produces specialist computer software (программное обеспечение) for the engineering industry (машиностроение).
