When a nurse looks after a patient who has an infectious disease she has two important tasks: to take care of the patient and to prevent the spread of infection.
Here are some rules how to prevent the spread of infection. This should be remembered by all nurses.
1. The nurse should wear a mask and a special gown when she goes to look after an infected patient.
2. The nurse should wash her hands carefully with soap and running water each time she leaves an infectious patient.
