PROCEDURE:

(1)Pilotage is compulsory for all tankers and vessels over 500 GT and is available H24.

(2)Before arriving in the roads of Ancona, vessels should contact the pilot and Mamime Authorities on VHF Chs 16 or 12 in order to be allocated an anchorage berth.

(3)A continuous listening watch should be maintained after anchoring and for the complete duration of stay in the roads.

(4)Pilot boards within 1nmile of the port entrance, or further out on request (in bad weather, at the entrance).
