Introduction
Ku Klux Klan.
Ku Klux Klan is a secret organization. It originally began in 1866 to conduct a campaign against newly enfranchised blacks. It spread through Tennessee throughout the South. Its members dressed in hoods and white sheets to play on their victims’ belief in vengeful ghosts. Its emblem was a fiery cross. Ku Klux Klan was officially disbanded in 1869.
The second Klan was organized in 1915. It extended its hostilities to Jews, Catholics, pacifists, the foreign born, radicals and labour unions. It was officially disbanded once more in 1944.
In revived it in the 1960-s and was involved in violent confrontations with anti-Klan and civil rights groups in the 1980-s.

Capital Punishment.
Capital punishment is punishment by death. It is abolished in many countries. In countries which have not abolished the death penalty it may be used only for the most serious crimes like premeditated murder. The execution may be by lethal injection, by electrocution, by lethal gas, by hanging, and by firing squad. Instead of capital punishment, life imprisonment can be used as punishment for serious crimes.
