John Belushi's Death Site"

John Belushi's Death Site.
Chateau Marmont. 8221 Sunset Boulevard High over the Strip this castle like hotel was modeled on an actual chateau outside Paris. Built in 1929 this hotel has been host to many major stars of Hollywood and visiting celebrities from all over the world. Still used by celebrities to this day the Chateau also offers outside bungalows giving extra privacy. It was in bungalow No3 that John Belushi spent his final day before dieing from a drugs overdose on 5th March 1982. Chicago born John Belushi was staying at the Chateau Marmont Hotel, in bungalow 3 on the last day of his life. John had that day stopped at the Guitar Center to pick up a guitar that had been custom-made for Les Paul. At least that's what he was supposed to have done with the $1,500 he had earlier in the day picked up from manager Bernie Brillstein. Instead of the guitar, Belushi bought a foot pedal for his drum set. He used the rest of the money to buy the heroin and cocaine that would kill him before the night was out. With him at the Guitar Center and through the last day of his life was Catherine Smith, who later mixed and injected his speedballs. After visiting the Guitar Center he started a drinking session in the club above the "Roxy", called "On The Rox." After that he visited the "Rainbow Bar & Grill" where he had a bowl of Lentil soup in their Kitchen, he then decided to head back to his Chateau Marmont bungalow, where he spent his final hours.
He could have entered one of two ways. From Marmont Lane, the street behind the hotel, he could have entered the back gate, to the front door of Bungalow 3, or he could have come through the hotel itself. Upon his arrival with Catherine Smith, Robin Williams and Robert DeNiro joined him in his room for an impromptu party. After the party disbanded he had Catherine Smith inject him with a speedball, a combination of heroin and cocaine. She thought John had passed out, so she left for a while, only to return to find pandemonium had broken out after Bill Wallace, one of John's friends had discovered his body. John Belushi was found lying naked, in the bedroom of bungalow No3. They tried frantically to resuscitate him but without success, so the coroner was called. Dr. Thomas Noguchi arrived on the scene and pronounced John Belushi dead; it was the morning of 5th March 1982. John Belushi was 33 years old and his death was later recorded as an accidental drugs overdose. Catherine Smith was released after questioning, but then gave an interview to the National Enquirer, admitting that she had injected John Belushi with the speedball. She was re-arrested, and later served time in prison for the administrating of the speedball. On the 10th of March, John Belushi was buried in Abel's Hill Cemetery, on Martha's Vineyard. Dan Aykroyd led the procession on his motorcycle.
