3. Translate into English.

1. Джулия не могла выкинуть из головы тот странный разговор, который произошел у нее с Роджером. Ей было не по себе от его обвинения в том, что у нее не было индивидуальности, что не существовало Джулии отдельно от сыгранных ею ролей.

Она поговорила о Роджере с Чарльзом. Но Чарльз не разделял ее чувств. Казалось, он больше сочувствует Роджеру, чем ей. Необъяснимым образом он принимал Роджера совершенно всерьез. Чарльз сказал, что Джулии не стоит волноваться. Все у Роджера наладится со временем. Ей следует просто оставить его в покое.

Услышав это, Джулия почувствовала себя не в своей тарелке. Роджер тоже благодарил ее за то, что она всегда позволяла ему вести свою собственную жизнь. Казалось странным, что такие разные люди думают одинаково.

2. День премьеры был особым днем в жизни Джулии. В былые времена Джулия ужасно нервничала перед премьерой. Уже с утра ее начинало подташнивать, а к вечеру она бывала настолько взвинчена, что почти теряла самообладание.

Но сейчас, пройдя через это тяжкое испытание столько раз, Джулия научилась подавлять свою нервозность. И все-таки по мере того, как час спектакля приближался, она начинала чувствовать себя не в своей тарелке, становилась раздражительной. Те, кто хорошо ее знал, старались не попадаться ей на глаза. Ее раздражала даже необходимость разговаривать с людьми, ей хотелось, чтобы ее оставили в покое.

Но в глубине души Джулия догадывалась, что их новая пьеса будет иметь большой успех. Она с нетерпением ждала того момента, когда она окажется лицом к лицу с заполненным людьми залом и опять продемонстрирует свою власть над публикой.

3. Майкл был единственным, кто догадался, что Джулия подстроила провал Эвис. Он прямо-таки светился самодовольством. Глаза его сияли. Он думал, что Джулия сыграла с ней эту злую шутку, потому что ревновала его к ней. Он не мог не чувствовать себя польщенным. Так как Джулия видела мужа насквозь, она догадывалась, о чем он думает. Про себя она смеялась над его заблуждением. Невозможно было излечить его от самодовольства. Пусть себе думает, что ему хочется. Ей и вправду хотелось рассмеяться, и хотя смех ей удалось подавить, она не могла скрыть легкую улыбку.

А с Эвис она рассчиталась. Так ей и надо за то, что хотела встать у нее на пути. Она ей отомстила.

4. Теперь Джулия была свободна от этих утомительных уз, которые так ее тяготили. Она справилась со своей болью и наслаждалась свободой. Какая же она была дурочка, что воспринимала Тома и их роман так серьезно. Но это было забавное приключение и, возможно, пригодится для какой-нибудь ее новой роли.

Роджер говорил, что игра – притворство. Но это притворство для нее было единственной реальностью. Она была художником, которая использует чувства людей и свои собственные как материал, из которого он творит искусство и красоту.
