Dialogue 2
Mum, here is Victor. He is a friend of mine. We study at the same department in the University.
How do you do, Victor. Do you live in Vladivostok?
No, I’m from Nakhodka. My parents live there.
I think you miss* your family.
Very much. Our family is very friendly. I have two wonderful sisters. They are twins. Besides, I have many relatives in Nakhodka: uncles, aunts, cousins and grandparents.
Oh, I see*. Does your mum work?
No, she is a housewife now. She is a teacher of Russian by education, but now she has to stay at home to look after my sisters.
Our son Andrei is the only child in the family. I think he envies* you. We do not have relatives at all.
I’ll take Andrei to Nakhodka once to introduce him to my family.
All my relatives are interesting people.
Notes: I see. - Понятно.
to miss – cкучать
to envy – завидовать
Dialogue 3
Where is your dad? You never tell me about him.
I live with my mum. The matter is that they divorced.
Do you see him from time to time?
Certainly, we are good friends. But now he is not in the city. He is a sailor. I am very upset that my parents divorced. Both of them are good people. I do not know what the problem was.
I see.
Dialogue 4
Where shall we have our Physical training tomorrow?
At the stadium, as usually.
I know that some students have Physical training in the gym. I should prefer* to train there.
Why? The out-of-doors trainings are better for health. I am fond of track and field athletics.
But as for me*, I like volleyball and basketball. You can’t play them on the stadium.
I think a stadium is better for warm weather, and in winter it is much more comfortable to have trainings in the gym.
Right you are.
Notes: I should prefer – Я бы предпочел
as for me - что касается меня
