PREPOSITIONS OF MOVEMENT. [1, p.134]
Expressing movement: go, etc. + preposition
To express movement use a verb of movement, for example, go, come, run, walk, etc. And a preposition of movement (up,down,etc.) Prepositions are used to show movement to or from a place.
Theman went up the steps and into the church. I ran over the bridge and across the park. He drove out of the garage and along the street.

SPORT IN OUR LIFE
Sport is very important in our life. It is popular among young and old people. People all over the world are fond of sports and games. Sport makes people healthy, keeps them fit, more organized and better disciplined. Many people do morning exercises, jog in the morning, train themselves in clubs, in different sections and take part in sport competitions. Other people like sports too, but they only watch sports games, listen to sports news. But they don't go in for sports.
There is a sports ground near our school and schoolchildren go in for sports in the open air. There are some popular kinds of sports in our country: football, volleyball, hockey, gymnastics, skiing, skating. Athletics is the general term used to describe a wide range of sports. It includes such kinds of sports as running, jumping and others.
Many people do sports on their personal initiative. They go in for skiing, skating, tennis, swimming, volleyball, football, bodybuilding, etc. All necessary facilities are provided for them: stadiums, sport grounds, swimming pools, skating rinks, skiing stations, football fields. Physical culture is a compulsory subject at schools and colleges.
