Legal Education

Students can get legal education in a number of higher educational institutions. One of them is The Tax Academy of Russian Federation (T.A.). it was founded by a government decree dated 23 November 1996. There are several faculties in our Academy, which train specialists in different fields: law, finance, accounting, personnel management, information technologies, taxation. The Faculty of Law trains lawyers in the field of taxation. In the course of training the students study a wide range of special subjects, such as: Constitutional Law, Civil Law, Criminal Law, Roman Law and others. At the end of the course of training the students get a traditional higher education diploma certifying their qualification.

The Academy offers a wide range of modern forms of education. Besides the full-time department there is an evening department, a correspondence department, a second higher education department.

In Great Britain one of the best places to get legal education is Cambridge University, students study 25 subjects there. In English Universities there are several different kinds of degree, depending on the level of specialization: Bachelor of laws (L.L.B.) is the first degree, Master of Law (L.L.M.) is the second, more specialized degree.

To become a lawyer in the USA you need 7 years of full-time study: 4 years in University and 3 years in law school.

Law firm

Law firms advise businesses, governments, public sector bodies and financial institutions. They provide a wide range of services for organisations in the key areas: finance, banking, property, commerce, marketing, advertising, litigation and disputes, taxes, employment and employee benefits, insurance

A law firm acts for companies in relation to the whole spectrum of corporate law (company creation, shareholders agreements, joint ventures, and strategic alliances). It also expertises in banking and financial services.

Experienced lawyers of the firm deal with all types of property transactions including investments, leasing and development projects. They ensure professional expertise in intellectual property matters: copyright, patents, know-how and confidential information.

Commercial litigation practice of the lawyers covers all kinds of disputes: lawsuits, arbitration or alternative dispute resolution. The lawyers conduct these disputes, prepare the case and assist the client.

The taxation group of a law firm offers a comprehensive corporate tax planning and advice service.
