III.The use of adjectives after verbs

1 After be / look / feel' / seem / smell '/ taste /sound /become / stay/ we use adjectives:

• Do you feel tired? The dinner smells good.

• Tom sounded angry. Your friend seems nice.

After other verbs we use adverbs (badly/well/carefully

Drive carefully. Susan plays tennis well.
