Unit V Правила чтения Чтение сочетаний гласных с согласными

Буквосочетания a + f / n/ s / th + согласная передают звук [a:], например: after, shaft, class;

a+ l + согласная →[ɔ:], например: all, fall, salt;

a+ lk → [ɔ:k], например: chalk, talk.

В безударном положении перед r все гласные буквы передаются нейтральным звуком [ə]:

similar, paper, visitor, murmur.
