Unit I
ten, tent, left, felt, belt, tip, bit, tint, tilt, dip, dim, din, did, bed, end, bend, lend, lip, lift, left, let, ill, fill, pill, milk, nek, net, nil, nip, nib, men, pen, ten, tent, pin, pen, pill, pip, pit, tip, ten, tell, tent, tint, tilt, belt, kill, kit, kid, kept, pill, hill, mill.
Прочитайте: hip, wet, friend, west, drill, win, brisk, twin, well, hill, dress, hit, rib, hint, grim, hem, rest, help, risk, held. trip, red, grim, rat, red, wit, hen, price. trend, wind.
Прочитайте: cent, cell, pencil, icy, gim, gist, gin, page.
Прочитайте: clem, cap, come, cleft, beg, leg, egg, big, pig.
Исключение: get, give, girl, finger, anger, bunger, tiger, target, geese, together.
Прочитайте: six, mix, fix, sex, vex, next, example, exact.
[s] – в суффиксах: -ous (curious), -us (nucleus), -is (synthesis) и в словах: yes, us, this, thus, house, mouse, case, base, gas, louse, goose, geese, use (имя существительное), paradise, etc. |
th→ звонкий звук [ð] – в служебных словах (артикль, местоимения, предлог with и т. д.) и в середине других слов (в результате озвончения окружающими его гласными): that;
в остальных случаях th→ глухой звук [θ]: thick;
sh → [ʃ]: shell;
ch, tch передает звук [tʃ]: chin, match;
1. wh + о → [h]: who; в остальных случаях 'wh' отражает звук [w]: when.
ou, ow→ [au]: out, town;
au, aw→ [ɔ:]: law, launch.
Прочитайте:they, them, loud, the, bathe, southern, mother; think, thin, theme, south, shin, fish, shelf, fresh, chest, chip, draw, autumn, chain, town, chess, chicken, automatics, about, house, chain, child, architect, chemistry, scheme, blow, character, chemist, whom, whole, whose, which, why, while, how, know, whale, wheel, white, meanwhile, cloud, saw, cause.
