X. Translate the paragraph into English.

Нашe сучасне життя неможливо уявити без комп’ютера. В ході промислової революції, людство зробило величезний крок вперед у всіх сферах життя і наукових дослідженнях. Все це призвело до появи техніки, здатної ефективно замінити деякі можливості людського розуму. Для чого потрібен комп’ютер в літаку? Літаки часів Першої Світової Війни були оснащені двигуном, шасі, крилами і кулеметом. Саме тому ці ненадійні машини так часто падали. Сучасні потужні комп’ютерні системи допомагають керувати літаком, підтримувати постійний зв’язок з пілотами, слідкувати за роботою всіх систем.

Time clauses

Time Clause answer the question when? Time clauses cannot stand alone except as an answer to a question. The time clause can come before or after the main clause. When it comes before, it is usually folowed by a comma. But if the main course comes first, no comma is used.

  • While Anna was sleeping, a plane flew over her house.

  • I'll start driving when you give me the keys.

Which conjunction?

  • things happening at the same time – while, when, as

  • one thing happening after another – after, before, as soon as, once

  • every time – whenever, every time

  • when things started – since, ever since

  • when things finish – until, by the time

Future Time Clauses

Future time clauses begin with time words such as when, as soon as, after, before, until, and while. Do not use the future tense in the time clause.

  • I’ll come home when I finish work.

  • You must wait here until your results are ready.

  • As soon as I read the article, I'll help you with your homework.
