ANIMAL IDIOMS

43 Read the idioms, their meanings and examples. Write down your own sentences illustrating the idioms.

  • take the bull by the horns - when we use the phrase in everyday talk, we mean that the person we are talking about the problems directly and is not worried about any risks involved.

I decided to take the bull by the horns and tell him he was upsetting Jane.

  • do a donkey work – manual labor or jobs that are routine or least important
