Специальные вопросы (Special Questions)
Вопросы, требующие специального ответа, дополнительной информации, называются специальными.
Специальные вопросы всегда начинаются с вопросительного слова, затем сказуемое и подлежащее.
What is this? Что это? What is that? Что то? What is he? Кто он? (по профессии)
What kind of book is it? Какая это книга? (о качестве предмета)
What city is this? It is Minsk. Какой это город? Это Минск.
What are these? They are books. Что это? Это книги. What are those? They are books too. Что то? Это тоже книги.
Вопросительные слова:
what – что, какой, who – кто, whose – чей, whom – кого, кому, which – который, when – когда, where – где, куда , how – как, каким образом, why – почему, how much – cколько (для неисчисляемых существительных), how many – сколько (для исчисляемых существительных), how long – как долго.
Разделительные вопросы (Tag questions)
Разделительные вопросы в английском языке задают в том случае, если хотят выразить сомнение, удивление. Мы задаем эти вопросы не просто с целью получения информации, а с целью обретения согласия или не согласия со сказанным. В зависимости от этого краткий вопрос «tag» будет переводиться по-разному: не правда ли? не так ли? хорошо? да? и т.д.
This is a map, isn’t it? – Yes, it is. Это карта, не так ли? – Да. They are students, aren’t they? No, they aren’t. – Это студенты, не так ли? – Нет.
