Ceramic nanocement, or phosphatic ceramics – one of the most interesting development of the Nizhny Novgorod regional center of nanotech industry. By definition, ceramic nanocement is a mix of oxide of metal and phosphate which in contact with water turns into gel cement mortar. It was proved that material possesses fire resistance and high durability, the increased resistance to chemical influence and resistance to freezing.

Nanocement hardens even under water, In contrast to the ordinary concrete. The phosphatic ceramics many times surpasses traditional cement in all possible parameters. The scope of nanocement is extremely wide, in particular, on the railroad it will apply to production of cross ties with the increased durability, ferroconcrete designs of bridges and tunnels, power lines and retaining walls…

The Kuibyshev railroad together with VNIIZhT (Research institute of railway transport) developed the technology allowing to stack the "silent" way which is most protected from fluctuations of temperature in environment and technical vibrations. The new, so-called "silicone" way, differs in an economical consumption of metal which is used to make rail as rails keep within a continuous strip – through each 1,5 meters the socket makes 58 mm.

Gaps between sections are filled with the special silicone created with use of nanotechnologies which structure was developed in VNIIZhT and is tested at the beginning of 2008. The new technology allows to reduce both the noise level of railroad tracks, and costs of laying of new ways of 36,8% in comparison with the existing analogs.
