D. Оборот there is/there are
Оборот there is (are) употребляется в тех случаях, когда говорящий сообщает, что в каком-то определенном месте имеется или отсутствует предмет или лицо, о котором ранее не говорилось:
There is a lamp on the table. – На столе есть (имеется, находится) лампа.
Если речь идет о ранее известном предмете, то строй предложения меняется:
The lamp is on the table. – Лампа на столе.
Если подлежащее выражено исчисляемым именем существительным, то в предложении, начинающемся с оборота there is, оно выступает с неопределенным артиклем.
Если подлежащее выражено существительным во множественном числе или неисчисляемым существительным, артикль отсутствует.
Если в предложении имеется несколько подлежащих, то глагол to be всегда согласуется с тем подлежащим, которое непосредственно следует за ним:
There is a dining-table and six chairs in the dining-room.
There are three rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom in our flat.
