Несмотря на достаточно позднее развитие культа первомученника в конце III-IV вв., он занял необычайно важную роль в христианской риторики как подражатель Христа. В средневековый период региональные традиции почитания, с одной стороны, а, с другой, повсеместное присутствие его культа в храмов как одного из первых дьяконов не позволяет говорить о единой тенденции восприятия образа. Интерес к мученику не был пробужден и под влиянием католической реформации. В свою очередь, для позднего протестантизма 1560-1590-х гг. именно Стефан оказался знаковой фигурой. Автор рассматривает причины популярности сюжета, анализируя конфликты, заложенные в книге «Деяний», и дает иллюстрирует восприятие сюжета в лютеранской традиции на примере трагедии Мельхиора Нейкирха 1592 г., завершившего череду драматургических адаптаций.

Lure Z. A. The martyrdom of St. Stephan in Medieval and Early Modern hagiography // Religion. Church. Society. Vol. 2. Saint-Petersburg, 2013. P. 185-206.

Despite the late development of the Stephan’s cult in the end of III-IV centuries, he played an important role in Christian rhetoric as example of asceticism and imitating of Christ. Medieval tradition due to regional cults, on the one hand, and the all-round worship of Stephan as one of the first deacons, can’t be seen as a unified phenomenon. Counterreformation also didn’t lead to reproach of the martyr’s figure. The late Protestant Reformation 1560-1590s in turn assumed to Stephan as one of the key heroes. The author studies grounds of that treatment basing on text analyses of the “Acts” and illustrates reflection of the plot in the Lutheran tradition on the example of Melchior Neukirch’s drama 1592, the last on in a chain of theatrical approaches to the subject.

Материал писем дает возможность для обширных обобщений, связанных с взаимоотношением интеллектуала с городской элитой в период конфессионализации.

The author publishes the original latin sourse-text of Birck’s letters to Basel humanist Oswald Miconius and its translation. She also introduces the dramatist’ biography that is not carefully studied. Basing on the letters it’s possible to make some conclusion about relationships and cooperation between a 16th century intellectual and the city elites.

Публикация представляет собой перевод раннехристианского агиографического текста «Акты Максимилиана», снабженного комментариями и вступительной статьей. В центре внимания оказываются вопрос о датировке и, в целом, подлинности текста «Актов». На основании анализа исторических реалий (упоминание должности темонария, свинцовой пластинки — signaculum, обычая погребения рядом со святыми и др.) и несообразностей в тексте делается вывод о том, что в основе «Актов» находится подлинная запись о судебном процессе, с конца IV в. подвергнувшаяся потом одной или нескольким редактурам. Перевод выполнен по изданию Г. Музурилло.

The publication is the Russian translation of the Early Christian Hagiographical text Acta Maximiliani with introduction and commentaries. The main problem of Introduction is issue of dating and authenticity of the text. The analysis of historical realities (temonarius, signaculum, depositio ad sanctos etc.) and inconsistencies in the text allows us to make conclusion that the basis of the Acta is the genuine record of the trial, but the text contains clear signs of editing, one or more. The text is from H. Musurillo, The Acts of the Christian Martyrs.

Synesius, bishop of Ptolemais, played an important role in the intellectual life of the Roman Empire on the turn of IV-V centuries. The article is devoted to the life and activity of Synesius in the context of his literary works that reflected the main milestones of the transition period. This article also focuses on Synesius' political and social views, which had a great impact on formation of anti-barbarian moods in the Late Ronan society.

В статье дается обзор истории сборников песнопений на немецком и русском языке в Евангелическо-Лютеранской Церкви (России) с XVI-XVII вв. до наших дней. Особое внимание в материале уделяется этапу в послеперестроечное время и ставшему на сегодняшний день его кульминацией «Сборнику песнопений Евангелическо-Лютеранской Церкви» 2009 г. История его создания и рецепции позволяет автору сделать критические наблюдения относительно современного состояния традиции общинного пения в приходах ЕЛЦ.

Tikhomirov A. V. The lost treasure? Notes on history of Evangelical Luteran Church hymnography // Religion. Church. Society. Vol. 2. Saint-Petersburg, 2013. P. 100-114.

The article gives an overview over the history of hymn-books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church (of Russia) from the 16-17 centuries to our time. It is referring both to hymn-books in German and to the attempts to establish a tradition of Lutheran hymns in Russian, which started even before the end of the 19th century and were cut off by the persecution in Soviet times. Special attention is given to the new stage of this development starting after Perestroika, and to the “Collection of hymns of the Evangelical Lutheran Church” of 2009, which is, for the moment, the culmination of this stage. The history of its creation and reception allows the author to make critical observations on the present condition of congregational singing in the parishes of ELC

В статье рассматривается проблема литургического или богослужебного языка и история введения этой практики в христианской традиции. Автор показывает роль национальных языков в богослужении ранней Церкви, затем процесс постепенной латинизации богослужения, и обратный феномен, обусловленный Реформацией. Отдельное внимание уделено позиции Лютера по этому вопросу. Опыт лютеранской церкви рассматривается как толчок к пересмотрению вопроса в католической традиции, а также как пример для восточных христиан.

History ofChurch service in national languages is studied within the article. The author shows it’s developement in the early Christianity, however, brought to a close within Catholic latinatisation and revealed through Reformation. Peculiar attention is paid to Luther’s views on the subject. The example of the Lutheran Church has led to change in Catholic attitude to the use of national languageses and might cause changes in the Ortodox tradition.
