In città
Around town
Most Italian towns (la città) and larger villages (il paese) still have a market day for fresh produce and a thriving local community of small shops and businesses. There may be parking restrictions in the downtown area. In Rome, parking in the central zona tutelata is prohibited on weekdays.

Finding your way
You’ll often find a town map (pianta della città) situated around town, usually near the town hall or tourist office. In the older parts of Italian towns there are often narrow streets in which you will usually find a one-way system in operation. Parking is usually restricted.
