Treatment if invasieve bladder

cancer

One and only radical method of treatment is radical cystectomy with further urine derivation

All other methods are concerned to be palliative.

Treatment options

Endoscopis – TUR

Resection of vesical bladder

Cystectomia

Conservative treatment

X-Ray (distant, intravesical)

Chemotherapy (adriablastine, farmrubucune, metotrexate)

40-85 % of patients with bladder cancer have regional lymphnode and far-away micrometastasis at the beginning of treatment. This patients nedd combined therapy with the use of surgical, radiological and chemiotherapy methods.

Uretral cancer

Squamous cell carcinoma develops in flat, scaly surface cells and is the most common type of urethral cancer. Other types include the following:

Transitional cell carcinoma (develops in surface cells of the urethra)

Adenocarcinoma (develops in glands located near the urethra)

Melanoma (extremely rare; develops in pigment-producing skin cells)

Sarcoma (extremely rare; develops in blood vessels, smooth muscle, and connective tissue)

Diagnosis

Diagnosis of urethral cancer is made by physical examination and biopsy.
