3. Is it important for PR practitioners to understand how the media function and how reporters work? - Yes, it is. If a PR practitioners want to work more effectively, they should understand how the media function and how reporters work.

4. Must practitioners be proficient in the art and craft of publicity? - Yes, they must. For PR practitioners to be proficient in the art and craft of publicity is meant to be more successfully because they'll be able to gain media attention.

5. Why are mass media a pervasive part of our society? - Mass media are pervasive part of our society because currently they coverage all media space. Also mass media shape our perceptions and beliefs.

6. How many daily weekly newspapers currently operate in the U.S.? - About 7700 daily, 7600 weekly newspapers currently operate in the USA.

7. How many magazines are published? - Over 5000 magazines are published for a large variety of well-defined audiences.

8. How many radio and television stations are listened to and watched in the U.S.? - Around 10000 radio stations and 1150 TV stations.

9. Do mass media shape our perceptions and beliefs? In what way? - They shape significantly perceptions and beliefs-particularly in relations to events and topics with which we have little direct contact.

10. What versions of the happenings do mass media provide? - Mass media providing greatly simplified and edited versions of the happenings in our complex and dynamic world.

11. Can you prove that the media are big, highly profitable businesses? - Yes, although mass media have already do it themselves. Only the beverage and tobacco industries show more profit in terms of return on equity.

12. How do the media gather and package information and entertainment? - The media gather and package information and entertainment in ways that stimulate audienses to spend money or time to read, listen or watch.

13. What sacred public mission do journalists have? - A sacred public mission that journalists have is to serve as the public's eyes and ears, to be watchdogs on public institutions doing the public’s business.

14. What goals do the media constantly seek? - The media's goals is proving truth and making a profit.

15. Why is the news a highly perishable commodity? - News a highly perishable commodity because news is a transient element in the ongoing flow of information. Journalists think so.
