Type 3 conditionals(unreal past)

They are used to express imaginary situations which are contrary to facts in the past They are also used to express regrets or criticism about the situation which cannot be changed in the future.

IF -clause

Main clause

IF +PAST PERFECT

WOULD+ PERFECT INFINITIVE

COULD+ PERFECT INFINITIVE

MIGHT+ PERFECT INFINITIVE

e.g If I had been more careful, I wouldn't made such a big mistake — Если бы я был более внимателен (ТОГДА), я бы не сделал такую огромную ошибку (ТОГДА)— СОЖАЛЕНИЕ О СЛУЧИВШЕМСЯ

РАЗЪЯСНЯЛКА= На самом деле Саймон был невнимательным и сделал огромную ошибку, о которой сейчас сожелеет .— The present situation cannot changed in the future
