Making information work Test yourself

The following dialog is based on the information уоu've just read. During his visit to Denver, Dmitry Volkov met а Market Development Specialist (Mr.Snyder) from Raleigh Industries Ltd. (Canada). The discussed the state of the bicycle industry in Canada.

Write down the questions that led to each of these answers. The first is done for you as an example.

Dmitry: Are you Mr. Snyder from Raleigh Industries? Mr. Snyder. Yes, I am. Glad to meet you Mr. Volkov.

Mr. Snyder. It used to be. Sales soared. Unfortunately, by 1992

lower-cost offshore producers have seized а big

chunk of the market.

Mr. Snyder. Yes, the situation has improved. Anti-dumping

duties have turned thing around.

Dmitry: I like to hear that.

В этом уроке Вам встретились времена группы Indefinite (Simple Tenses).

В английском языке существуют настоящее время (Present Indefinite), прошедшее время (Past Indefinite) и будущее время (Future Indefinite). Общим для всех времён группы indefinite является то, что они обозначают действие, не связанное с определенным моментом времени. Они служат для констата­ции факта или обозначают привычное действие. Своеобраз­ными сигналами времени Present Indefinite служат слова usually, sometimes, often, seldom, always, never, every (day, morning), once (а week). Сигналами Past Indefinite служат yesterday, last (week), (three days) ago.

Образование глагольных форм времен группы Indefinite представлено в следующих таблицах:

Past Indefinite (Past Simple) Forms

N.B.. Помните, что английские глаголы делятся на пра­вильные и неправильные. Правильные глаголы образуют формы Past Indefinite по схеме: Infinitive + -ed. Формы не­правильных глаголов указаны в словаре.

Future Indefinite (Future Simple) Forms

Формы Future Indefinite образуются по схеме: will/shall + Infinitive.

N.B. Использование формы shall в первом лице ед. ч. и мн. ч. является в настоящий момент приметой официального стиля речи. Sha11 следует также употреблять в тех случаях, когда Вы обращаетесь к собеседнику с предложением (Shall I bring you а сир of coffee?).
