Episode six а Call to saint-Petersburg

Tuesday 9:00 АМ. А typical busy morning at Dynateam Inno­vations. John Boden is calling Dmitry Volkov in Saint-Petersburg. Before calling he has checked what time it is in Saint-Petersburg. Не knows that it's 5:00 РМ local time and he hopes to catch Dmitry in his office.

John Boden: Hello, this is John Boden calling from America.

Is Dmitry Volkov available, please?

Secretary: Hello, Mr. Woden.

John Boden: Му name is Boden. John Boden. Г11 spell it for you B-o-d-e-n.

Secretary: ['т sorry, Mr. Boden. Putting you through.

Din itry: Hello, John. How are you?

John Boden: Hi, Dmitry. I'm fine. And you? How's Saint-Petersburg?

Dnгttry: Everything is ОК. When are you planning to come?

John Boden: [ hope to be in saint-Petersburg by the end of the month. When 1 know for sure, I'11 ring you up.

Dmitry: That's fine. I'll be on а business trip to Murmansk until September 15. When you know the date of your departure, you can reach те at ту cell number, or you сап leave а message for те. Nina, our secretary is а very reliable person. She'll contact те immediately. Listen, John. How long до you intend to stay?

John Boden: I'11 probably spend three or five days in Saint­Petersburg. I'm also thinking of visiting Moscow after it.

Drnitry: Better make it five days. If you are in saint-Petersburg on October 1, we'll go to the official opening of "INTERSPORT 20-" at LenExpo.

John Boden: Is that interesting?

Dmitry: Yes, it's а good opportunity to evaluate the market.

John Boden: 1'11 try to make it. See you in Saint-Petersburg.

Dmitry: See you. Good-bye, John. John Boden: Bye, Dmitry.

Later on in the afternoon John Boden called Terrence O'Connor, the sales Manager of Dynateam Innovations.

John Boden: Hello, Liz.

О'Connor's Hello, Mr. Boden. Mr. O'Connor is still at lunch.

secretary: Do you want him to ring you back?

John Boden: Do not bother. 1'11 call him later myself.

John Bode,,: Hi, Liz. John Boden speaking. 1s Terrance in his

office?

Liz: Yes, he is. Т'11 put you through.

О'Connor: Hello, John.

John Boden: Hello, Terrence. 1 called saint-Petersburg in the morning. Dmitry Volkov, the guy from Eurosport 1 had met at the seminar т Denver told те that there would be а large exhibition there in October. 1 think it might be interesting to visit it.

0'Connor: I believe you were planning to go to Atlanta on September 28.

John Boden: Yes, -I was. But I think Lucas and Kerr can fly there. I don't think the negotiations will be difficult.

O'Gonnor: You know better. If you feel you have to go to Russia, go there.

John Boden: You know, Terrence. 1 never expected it would be so easy to get through to Russia. And the connection was good. Dmitry's secretary answer­ed the phone. She speaks English quite well.
