How do Characters in Tolkien's Middle-earth look like Genetics of Middle-earth

It's interesting to notice how accurate Tolkien was about the Laws of Genetics when creating his characters. For example, we never see any couple with a recessive trait having a son or daughter with a dominant trait...

In the list below I try present the page references for the description. Since I have books from several editions (from four countries and two languages), these pages must serve just to give an idea.

Difference in days:

Difference in months: lunar months and days

Instructions:

  • Enter all dates in the format Day/Month/Year.

  • Invalid days may be entered without problem; for example Day -1 of October will be treated like Day 29 of September, while Day 35 of September will be treated like Day 5 of October.

  • Invalid months may cause a problem

  • Shire dates uses months 1 to 12 for the months Afteryule, Solmath, ..., Foreyule. Yule 1 is Day 1 of Month 0, Lithe 1 is Day 31 of Month 6, Midyear's Day is Day 32 of Month 6, Lithe 2 is Day 33 of Month 6 (except in leap years, when it goes to 34/06 and Overlithe becomes 33/06). Other M-e calendars use a similar system; for example, the extra day between month 9 and month 10 in the Steward's Reckoning is coded as 31/09.

  • Negative Years will be treated the same way the flag AD/BC is treated. In other words, Year -1 AD is Year 1 BC, and Year -2 BC is Year 2 AD. However, there was no Year 0, so Year 1 BC is followed by Year 1 AD. The Middle-earth Calendars include Year 0.

  • Current Implementation: only computation of number of days between two Dates in Gregorian or Julian Calendars or within Middle-earth Calendars is implemented. Ignore all conversion from Real to Middle-earth and Middle-earth to Real
