Hello everybody.

I want to tell you about a famous modern writer Cecelia Ahern. My presentation has 2 parts. First I’ll give you some information about Cecelia’s personal life and then I’ll tell you about her achievements.

I have read some her books. I like them. Now Cecelia Ahern is my favorite writer. So I’ll tell you about Cecelia.

Let’s start from the first point of my presentation.

She was born 30^th September 1981 in Dublin. She is Irish. Now she is 29. Cecelia’s is the daughter of an Irish ex-prime minister Bertie Ahern. On 14 December 2009 Mass Media announced that Cecelia had given a birth to her first child with her partner David Keoghan, a girl was named Robin.

She got married secretly on 11 June 2010 in County Kildare, Ireland.

Now some words about her achievements.

Cecelia Ahern graduated from St.Griffith College with a degree in Journalism. She wrote the first book “P.S. I love you”, when she was 21. The book was a bestseller in the USA, The UK, Ireland and German. Now it was sold to over 40 countries. Her second book, Where Rainbows End (U.S. Love, Rosie), was also successful in Ireland and the UK, and won the German CORINE Award in 2005.

Cecelia has already written seven books. She has received some awards such as the British Book Awards, Irish Post Awards and others.

Now Cecelia is producer of comedy sitcom “Samantha Who?” And she writes shirt stories. She gives her money to charity.

Good morning! I’m Olga Yatsenko. I want to tell you about Barcelona.

The plan of my presentation has six parts. I want to give you some general information in the first part. In the second part I’d like to tell you where you can stay. Then I’d like to tell you about the sights. After that I’d like to tell you about restaurants in Barcelona. In the fifth part I want to tell you about shops. Finally, I'd like to tell you about entertainment.

Let’s start with General information: Barcelona is the capital and the most populous city of Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain, after Madrid, with a population of 1,621,537.

The foundation of Barcelona is the subject of two different legends. The first legend refers to the mythological Hercules 400 years before the building of Rome. The second one is about the historical Carthaginian Hamilcar Barca, father of Hannibal, who named the city Barcino after his family, in the 3rd century BC.

Some words about Accommodation: You can stay at several hotels in Barcelona. One of them is «Le Meridien Barcelona». It is a five-star hotel. «Le Meridien Barcelona» has many rooms. For example, Deluxe Room, Junior Suite, Prestige Suite, Non Smoking Rooms and etc. The hotel has 233 rooms. The hotel has a pub «Cent Onze», a swimming pool, a gym and a cinema.

As for Sights: You can visit the "Gothic Quarter” in Barcelona. It’s the centre of the old city of Barcelona. Despite several changes undergone in the 19th and early 20th century, many of the buildings date from Medieval times, some from as far back as the Roman settlement of Barcelona. The "Gothic Quarter " has a Cathedral of Santa Eulàlia, Church of Santa Maria del Pi, Plaça Reial.

Restaurants: In Barcelona you can visit the best Italian restaurants. The «Les set portes» is the oldest in Barcelona. It was visited by famous people: Garcia Marquez, Hemingway, Orson Welles, Che Guevara, Ava Gardner. The menu includes sausages, olive oil, fish, shellfish, cuttlefish and lobsters. Dinner with wine costs €30-55

Everybody likes shopping. So the next point of my speech is shops: «El Corte Inglés» is the largest shopping center in Spain. It has 12 floors: 10 ground floors and 2 underground floors. Here you can buy clothes, cosmetics, perfumes, home appliances, furniture, books, CDs, musical instruments, shoes, baby clothes, accessories, watches, jewelry. It has restaurants, cafes, travel agent, dry cleaners, beauty salon and wedding salon.

Let’s talk about entertainment: In Barcelona you can visit the biggest nightclub «Razzmatazz». It has five dance floors – Pop, House, Rock, Electric, and Hip-Hop. In this club you can relax very well.
