Exercise 35. Complete these sentences in any appropriate way using either the to-infinitive or the -ing form of the verb in brackets. If both forms are possible, give them both.

Exercise 36. Put the verb in the brackets after the verb «to like» into the correct form

1. I don’t like (to wear) a hat. 2. Ann doesn’t like (to watch) TV. 3. He doesn’t like (to go) to the cinema. 4. Jack likes (to take) photographs. 5. I don’t like (to work) in the evening. 6. I like (to be) alone. 7. Do you like (to travel)? 8. Ann likes (to cook). 9. I don’t like (to drive). 10. Tom likes (to do) the washing-up immediately after meal. 11. We don’t like (to live) in that house. 12. When I have to catch a train, I’m always worried about missing it. So I like (to get) to the station in plenty of time. 13. I like (to listen) to classical music. 14 He likes (to learn) languages. 15. He doesn’t like (to visit) museums.

Exercise 37. Here is some information about Tom when he was a child.

  1. He was in hospital when he was four. 4 He cried on his first day at school.

  2. He went to Paris when he was eight. 5. He said he wanted to be a doctor.

  3. He fell into the river. 6 He was bitten by a dog.

He can still remember 1,2 and 4. But he can't remember 3, 5 and 6. Make sentences beginning He can remember______or He can’t remember.______

Exercise 38. Your friend has some problems and you have to be helpful. For each problem write a question with try.

Example: I can't find anywhere to live. (put an advertisement in the newspaper)

Exercise 39. Put the verb into the correct form, -ing or to + infinitive. (Sometimes either form is possible.)
