Перевод в косвенную речь повелительных предложений

При переводе в косвенную речь повелительных предложений глагол, выражающий просьбу или приказание, ставится в форме инфинитива. В качестве глаголов, вводящих косвенную речь, употребляются глаголы to ask, to order, to tell, to command, to request, to beg. Если в прямой речи было обращение, оно становится адресатом глагола говорения.

She said, “Open the window.” She asked to open the window.

He said to me, “Read the letter.” He told me to read the letter.

Mother shouted, “Come here at once.” Mother ordered me to come to her at once.

She said, “Give me a fork and a spoon, She asked to give her a fork and a

please.” spoon.

The officer commanded, “Stay where The officer commanded those men to

you are.” stay where they were.

The secretary said, “Please, give me the The secretary asked to give her the

Отрицательная форма повелительного наклонения заменяется инфинитивом, перед которым ставится отрицание.

I said to him, “Don’t smoke.” I told him not to smoke.

The mother said to her children, The mother told her children not to “Don’t make too much noise.” make too much noise.

Перевод в косвенную речь общих вопросов

При переводе в косвенную речь общих вопросов порядок слов в предложении меняется, он становится таким же, как в утвердительном предложении, т.е. прямым; при этом общий вопрос присоединяется к главному предложению с помощью союзов if или whether, которые соответствуют русской частице ли в предложениях аналогичного типа.

She asked me, “Do you play chess?” She asked me if (whether) I played chess.

She asked him, “Can you translate the She asked him if he could translate

text without a dictionary?” the text without a dictionary.

They asked her, “Did you send a They asked whether she had sent

telegram?” a telegram.

He asked us, “Have you read the letter?” He asked if we had read the letter.
