Diagram & Table Configuration Window

In this window the properties of the diagram or table may be edited in one Performance Data Display

Figure 1: Display Configuration (Diagram)

In figure 1 the page for the diagram configuration is open. Under (1) you can switch between this one and the table configuration. If the window is closed, for example: via “OK” (14) or a cross in the title bar, then all the changed settings are saved.

(2)If this checkmark is not set then the diagram fades out.

(4)Diagram preview

(5)(6) With these buttons you may choose the axis type or exactly one axis which the following 3 buttons (7 - 9) will reference.

(7)Creates a new axis, depending on the type chosen (under 5 & 6) a new X or Y axis.

(8)Open processing window for the axis chosen under the selection field (5) or (6).

(9)The axis chosen in selection field (5) or (6) is deleted

(10)Graph processing window is opened

(11)Title processing window is opened

(12)Legend configuration window is opened

(13)Open configuration window for standard settings

Diagram and diagram models are stored by default with the post fix “.gtp”. Axes that can not be assigned to a graph are always shown in gray. Only after allocating at least one

graph is the default axis or help line color used.

(28)Sample table with sample values -> other options can be reached via context menu (mouse right click).

Tables and table templates are stored by default using the post fix “.ttp”. The same parameter may be added multiple times as a column of the table.

The Diagram

The diagram is the most important element to present, compare and analyze data. For this purpose the diagram has a number of settings available.

Figure 1: Sample Diagram

Main component:

Title bar (1)

Legend (4)

n axis (X(3) as well as Y (2) )

Graph display surface (5)

Features:

Supports n x-axes and n Y-axes

Legend, title bar and diagram surface (graph display surface + axes) may be positioned variable against each other.

All elements are freely configurable (color, size, form, fonts[1])

Main and side lines as well as help lines

Selectable parameter + unit

Saving + loading possible (.gtp)

Zoom + print function

Graphs may filled by user with own values (ex.: for quality graph)

Linear and logarithmic axis classification

Zoom:

You can select the Zoom-factor on Context menu or you can zoom with pushed "Strg" key and moving mouse(with left button pressed) to zooming area.

Configuration:

The main components have each their own configuration dialog. With these you reach via the Context menu (mouse right click) -> properties or with a simple double click to the respective element of the diagram view or by way of an extra Configuration Window. The diagram configuration window is offered in various but not all locations in the application for processing.

Figure 2: Diagram Context Menu

Axis configuration

The comprehensive axis configuration is divided in this window onto several pages; via the tab (1) you can switch back and forth.

Standard

(see figure 5 with explanation)

Unit & Scaling

specify the axis parameter, unit and classification (automatically [min;max], semiautomatic [0;max], manually [m,m])

Labeling

specify the labeling options: Color, font, font angle, number format (technical [0.123e3]-> to the power of three, floating [123.456], scientific [1.23e2]), accuracy (decimal places)

Name & Line

specify the axis name display (title): color, font, font angle, text and possible inclusion of parameter name and unit, line display: line style, color and size

Help & main grid line

Line style, color, size, should the axis color be used and should the color be lighter or darker.

Line design (tics)

specify the design and the main and help lines (tics): Line position, length and width

(12)Position of axis (here for the x-axis top + bottom as an option)

(13)Here the color for the line, the labeling and the axis title may be set.

(14)Scaling the axis (linear or logarithmic)

(15)Via this box the different components can be activated (visible) or deactivated (not visible)

(16)With this box the entire axis can be faded in or out.

Graph configuration

In this dialog box all graph specific settings may be made. Via the context menu (right click) (23) of the table (22) or the buttons (24) graphs may be added or deleted. For this purpose the respective column with the desired axis combination must be selected.

Via the tab (21) you can reach the table view in which the chosen graph can be allocated to another axis by moving the checkmark. Here the columns correspond to the x-axis available and the rows to the y-axis.

By choosing one graph in the table (click on it) its setting in the field underneath are displayed.

Figure 6: Graph Configuration Window

(21)Change the table views, graphs -> display all graphs, columns correspond to combination between x and y axesGraph axis allocation -> axis allocation for selected graph is controlled by a checkmark.

(22)Table view including display of all graphs

(23)Context menu via mouse right click of table (22)

(24)buttons for adding a graph to the chosen column or deleting a selected graph.

(25)Field with properties of chosen graphs via the active checkmark it is regulated if the graph is displayed or not.

(26)Graph name composed of standard part (parameter-unit) and customized, which can be entered in this text field.

(27)This not modifiable field shows if the chosen graph already contains data (points).

(28)With this button data can be manually allocated to the graph. For this purpose a table is opened in which the points can be edited, for example for quality graphs…

(29)These 3 fields control the line style of the graphs (style, size, color).

(30)These 6 fields control the point style of the graph (style/type, size, color (n))

(31)If preferred, the line color may be overwritten with the one from one axis, via the buttons (radio buttons)

(32)If a checkmark is set then the line color is used as the main color for the point design.

Legends and title configuration

The properties of the title field below the legend are specified via the dialog (figure 3 /figure 4). In these table views you will find on the left the property name, on the right the corresponding (changeable) value and, if necessary, on the bottom an explanation on its function.

Some fonts may not support all physical signs. These are not displayed at all or as empty boxes. You should not have any problems using Arial fonts.

The Data Table

Most of the data tables within the application can be manipulated partially once directly via the context menu or via the Table Configuration Dialog or Element.

Figure 2: Table Column

Figure 1: Sample Table

Context Menu

The context menu (figure 2) is opened via a right mouse click on the table column. It contains table as well as column related entries:

Hide column

the selected column is hidden

Display all

All columns are visible including the hidden columns.

Properties

Opens the property window of the column

Table Properties

Opens the property window for table options

Rows – Index

A row numbering regardless of any sorting from 0 to n is displayed.

Rows – Number

A row numbering is displayed which corresponds to the original order. (First row = 0, second row = 1,…)

Performance Data Display Window

In this window the performance data of the current or completed measurement are displayed in form of a diagram (1) and/or a table (2). A small table at the margin (3) will show the measurement point received last.

If the diagram and table are displayed then the proportion can be changed on the green lines by using your mouse. (left mouse click between the elements (4) and drag).

The main table and the diagram can be configured at any time. Via a right mouse click you can display the different options.

Program Editor

Measuring programs can be created and processed in the client window, “Program Editor” (10). The Editor is divided into two main sections – the program view (left) (4) and the program properties (right).

Program view:

One program consists of one or more blocks. The composition is completed by dragging the Icons into the program view (4) from the block bars (1-3) or via right mouse click. The blocks contained in the program are numbered (in the picture from 1 to 5) and are also processed in the system in this order. To the right of the blocks in the program view you will find a short description of the block parameter and settings.

Blocks can be exported, loaded, deleted, copied, inserted and processed via the context menu. The blocks can also be moved by way of left mouse click. By clicking the “del”ete key the selected block is deleted. With the arrow keys (up and down) you can navigate between the blocks and by also clicking on the “Ctrl” key you can move the selected block.

With a left double mouse click or via the context menu you can open the configuration dialog for the selected block.

Blocks were the setting is incomplete or that contain errors will have a red “exclamation mark” on the bottom right, see block 2. (5) on the image. If the setting is ok according to the current configuration, then you will not see an exclamation mark as in this image for block 4. (6).
