.pdfTips on Help
This application provides the user with different types of help.
1. Direct Help
Some windows incorporate a direct description on utilizing the user surface. In some cases it can be minimized by clicking on a small box in the top left corner.
2. Short Info (tool tip)
If you move the mouse to a surface element supported by this technology then the help text is displayed immediately or after a brief delay. The help text will explain handling the user surface in more detail or offers additional information.
3. Context dependent help
Depending in which window or dialog you are in, by clicking "F1" or the question mark key in the title bar, the user can display the respective help text.
4. Help Menu
In the main menu under “Help” you can also directly access help. There are three options to negotiate the Help menu.
∙Content… Here all topics are organized logically by association.
∙Index… All help pages are organized in alphabetical order.
∙Search… Here you can search help by entering key words.
Utilization Tips
The program package is used with a mouse and keyboard. At various places the property menu (context menu) can be opened by way of a right mouse click. The property menu allows for example adding, deleting or configuring elements.
The following base objects are distinguished: a) Key (button)
You use a key by dragging the cursor (mouse pointer) with your mouse onto the respective key and then clicking on your left mouse button.
b) Selection button / Option button
Selection and option buttons are used the same way as keys (see above). For selection buttons, a colored dot on the key will point out the current selection chosen. Within one frame only one field may be activated (mutually excluded). Option buttons (check box) are buttons that are activated / deactivated by clicking on the white field. The active condition displays a diagonal cross or checkmark in the white field.
c) Selection menu / list
A selection menu (combo box) is a selection field where one field is chosen from several options provided. These can be recognized on the key located on the right next to the white field. By clicking the key, a menu opens in which one line can be chosen by clicking on it. If the list has more elements than can be displayed, then in the left portion of the list a roll bar will appear. This roll bar allows you to choose one of the remaining elements.
d) Input fields
The input fields are used to enter text or numbers. To make an entry you must drag the cursor (mouse pointer), using your mouse, onto the key and then click on the left mouse button. A Carret cursor will appear in the input field. Via your keyboard you can enter a number.
Tip:
∙If a number or text already existing in the field is to be overwritten, then by holding down the mouse key drag the mouse pointer over the letter/number to be replaced. The overwritten letter/number is selected. After all the desired values have been selected, let go of the mouse key and enter the new text or the new number via your keyboard.
