III. Some of the sentences are right but some are wrong. Correct them.

  1. It was a cold winter. We had many snow.

Числительное

Числительное обозначает количество или порядок предметов при счете. Соответственно своему значению числительные делятся на количественные и порядковые. Порядковые числительные обозначают порядок предметов и отвечают на вопрос which? (который?). Образуются при помощи окончания th прибавляемого к количественному числительному (исключения first, second, third):

Количественные числительные обозначают количество и отвечают на вопрос how many? (сколько?):

Годы обозначаются количественными числительными, которые читаются парами, слово год отсутствует:

1900 – nineteen hundred

1907 – nineteen o seven

1965 – nineteen sixty five

Даты обозначаются порядковыми числительными:

April 12th, 1961 – the twelfth of April 1961

Предлоги

Предлоги времени.

In (в) - in the morning, in winter, in May, in 1917, in late September

(утром, зимой, в мае, в 1917, в конце сентября)

At (в) - at 9 p.m., at night, late at night

(в 9 вечера, ночью, поздно ночью)

On - on Sunday, on the 1st of May (в воскресенье, 1-го мая)

By (к) - by 5 o'clock, by the end of the war (к 5 часам, к концу войны)

During (в течение) - during the game (во время игры)

For - for three days, for some time (в течение трех дней, некоторое время)

From...till (сдо…) - from early morning till late at night, from 5 till 7 tomorrow (с раннего утра до поздней ночи, с 5 до 7 завтра)

After (после) - after school, after supper (после школы, после ужина)

In (через) - in a day or two, in a fortnight (через день, два, через 2 недели)

Since (с) - since yesterday, since then (со вчерашнего дня, с тех пор)

Предлоги места.

In (в) She is in the room.

On (на) - Put it on the table. The carpet is on the floor.

Between (между) - There is a table between (two) windows.

Behind (за) – The broom is behind the door.

Under (под) – The dog is lying under the table.

In front of (перед) – My bed is in front of the window

Above (над) - There is a lustre above the table.

Near (около) – Near the table there is a cupboard.

Opposite (напротив) - Opposite the door there is a cupboard.

Предлоги направления.
