Основні типи питань, які використовуються в англійській мові
(TYPES OF QUESTIONS)
1. Загальне питання (General Question)
Загальне питання відноситься до всього речення в цілому, і відповіддю на нього будуть слова yes або nо: Do you like ice - cream? - Yes I do. Can you speak English? - Yes, I can. Are you а schoolboy? - No, I am not. Have you bought а text book? - Yes, I have.
Порядок слів у загальному питанні
1) допоміжне (модальне, дієслово-зв'язка)
дієслово
2) підмет (іменник або займенник)
3) смислове дієслово (або додаток).
2. Спеціальне питання (Special Question)
Спеціальне питання відноситься до певного члена речення або їх групи і вимагає конкретної відповіді:
What is your name? - My name is Peter.
Where do you live? - I live in Smila.
Спеціальне питання завжди починається із спеціального питального слова:
who (хто) where (де)
whom (хто) why (чому)
what (що) how long (як довго)
which (який) how many (скільки)
whose (чий) how much (скільки)
when (коли) how (як)
Порядок слів у спеціальному питанні
1) питальне слово (what, where, who, when how і т. д.),
2) допоміжне (модальне, дієслово-зв'язка)
дієслово.
3) підмет
4) смислове дієслово
5) додаток
6) обставини (місця, часу, способу дії і т.д.)
У спеціальних питаннях, звернених до підмета у формах Present і Past Indefinite, не вживається допоміжне дієслово do (did) і зберігається прямий порядок слів:
Who wants to go to the cinema?
Whose pen is it?
Who lives here?
