I would like to take part in Magellan's round-the-world expedition as it was very interesting and dangerous adventure.The first voyage round the world was made by Magellan over 400 years ago. He thought that by going west he could travel by sea round the world and come to the same place again. In those early days many people in Europe were interested in India They knew it was a very rich country whose culture was older than theirs. Magellan wanted to find a new way to India.One day, after a voyage of many months, Magellan's crew saw land. It turned out to be South America. They were met by a crowd of men and women, who looked quite different from them.Magellan did not stay long in South America: he was in a hurry to get to India.This voyage was long and difficult. Islands were few and far between, and the travellers were often in need of food and water. Many of them fell ill, but at last, after many months of travelling, they reached the Philippine Islands. In the Philippine Islands Magellan and his men were well met by the people They stayed there for some time and took part in a war between two different peoples of the islands Magellan was killed in this war.
3.The city of beautiful bridges.
St. Petersburg is the city of beautiful bridges. The city is called Northern Venicebecause there are 65 rivers, arms and canals there with decorated bridges. Eightbridges across the Neva River open every night in summer giving together with thesunset and magnificent buildings a picturesque view. I think, that most beautiful isAnichkov bridge. 5.The computer we use at the institute.
The computer is the complex mechanism which consists of several parts. There are the system block, the monitor, the keyboard, the mouse,
The system block the most important part of a computer. In the system block there is a set of microcircuits, wires and various devices. The videocard, the processor, a power unit, a parent payment all it is in the system block.
Devices of input it is the keyboard and the mouse. By means of the keyboard we enter the text necessary to us into a computer and as we edit it. By means of the mouse it is possible to open easily and quickly various pages, folders, files, documents.
Devices of a conclusion it is the monitor and the printer. We watch all processes which occur in the system block by means of monitor. The text which is printed you is found on the monitor. By means of the printer we can print various files, figures, photos.
In our institute there are computer classes. But, unfortunately, these computers at all last generations, and old enough.
6.New ideas in air transport.
Air transportation has been around for nearly a century and there have been vast improvements since those first solo flights across the Atlantic Ocean. There are some concrete ideas, far from fiction, on the future of air transportation that are being rolled out, or, at least, being heavily considered by some of the biggest air transportations players in the world.

But recent innovations in mobile technology now allow safe use of cellular phones while in a flight, which is what AirChina, China Southern and China Eastern are planning on doing.If mobile coverage will soon be allowed while on board, Wi-Fi on flights are also in the works.
7.The role of IT in our life.
We are living in a society which is called "technologically civilized" society.Every small work we do is technology dependent. Today every other person is recognized with the device or gadget,he carries; which is technically advanced. Ultimately, we can say that,"living without technology is like living without air" in this technical world of today.Therefore, we are much dependent on technology.
Technology made our lives simple but much dependent on it. We can sit in a corner and get connected to the world. Thus making the world a "global community." Communicate with a person in remote area within fraction of seconds,make a trip of the world within no time, all these are possible with the advanced technology ,making us more dependent on its usage.Today, we don't find even a single young kid without using the available technology to him/her.Technology made us dependent on it and we can't expect or imagine a life without using the word "technology" in it .Hence, technology plays a major role in our lives.
