The city of beautiful bridges.
St. Petersburg is the city of beautiful bridges. I think, that most beautiful is Anichkov bridge. It was built across the river Fontanka. Construction was began in 1838 and lasted during almost ten years. Anichkov bridge was designed by the engineer Getman. The material used for construction was granite. The bridge was decorated by sculptures on the theme “Taming of wild hors.” The author of these sculptures is Clodt. During Second World War the sculptures were put away and saved. I think that Anichkov bridge is decoration of Nevsky avenue.

Санкт-Петербург является городом прекрасных мостов. Я думаю, что самым прекрасным является Аничков мост. Он был построен через реку Фонтанку. Строительство было начато в 1838 году и продолжалось в течение почти десяти лет. Аничков мост был сконструирован инженером Гетманом. Материал, использованный для строительства, был гранит. Мост был украшен скульптурами на тему «Укрощение дикого коня». Автором этих скульптур является Клодт. Во время II Мировой войны скульптуры были убраны и спасены. Поэтому мы можем восхищаться ими сейчас. Я думаю, что Аничков мост является украшением Невского проспекта.
The historic voyage you wish you had taken part in
I would like to take part in Magellan's round-the-world expedition as it was very interesting and dangerous adventure.The first voyage round the world was made by Magellan over 400 years ago. He thought that by going west he could travel by sea round the world and come to the same place again. In those early days many people in Europe were interested in India They knew it was a very rich country whose culture was older than theirs. Magellan wanted to find a new way to India.One day, after a voyage of many months, Magellan's crew saw land. It turned out to be South America. They were met by a crowd of men and women, who looked quite different from them.Magellan did not stay long in South America: he was in a hurry to get to India.This voyage was long and difficult. Islands were few and far between, and the travelers were often in need of food and water. Many of them fell ill, but at last, after many months of travelling, they reached the Philippine Islands. In the Philippine Islands Magellan and his men were well met by the people They stayed there for some time and took part in a war between two different peoples of the islands Magellan was killed in this war.

Он думал, что, идя на запад сможет путешествовать морским путем вокруг мира и приехать в то же самое место снова. В те ранние дни много людей в Европе интересовались Индией, Они знали, что это была очень богатая страна, культура которой была старше чем их. Магеллан хотел найти новый путь к Индии. Однажды, после рейса многих месяцев, команда Магеллана видела землю. Оказалось, было Южной Америкой. Они были встречены толпой мужчин и женщин, которые выглядели весьма отличными от них. Магеллан не оставался длинным в Южной Америке: он спешил добираться до Индии. Этот рейс был длинен и труден. Острова были немногими и далеко между, и путешественники были часто в потребности пищи и воды. Многие из них заболели, но наконец, после многих месяцев путешествия, они достигли Филиппинских островов. An aircraft of the 21-st century
If to trust engineers of the American firm of Lawrence Livermor from California, planes of the XXI century for long-distance routes will make a rectilinear trajectory of flight and will move jumps in an upper atmosphere. These cars will be more high-speed and more economic, than classical planes. Designers of the prototype called HYPERSOAR, consider that it will be capable to overcome 20000 km in 2 hours with eight hundred passengers onboard. The idea of the hypersonic plane isn't new, but only recently there were technologies allowing to realize it. Technically, is a hybrid of the plane and the rocket. But unlike the rocket demanding for start of special designs of the spaceport, HYPERSOAR will be able to fly up from any airfield provided that the runway will have sufficient length (at least three kilometers that he managed to gain speed for a separation from the earth). In a lifting phase up to the height of 40 km the speed of the device will reach ten speeds of a sound that HYPERSOAR will allow, having already switched off engines, by inertia, to rise by the maximum height in 60 km and to leave the atmosphere. While only the American airlines became interested in the new aircraft. However, in Livermorsky laboratory hope that it will be able to find application and in astronautics, for economic start of satellites on Earth orbit.

Но в отличие от ракеты, требующей для запуска специальных конструкций космодрома, HYPERSOAR сможет взлетать с любого аэродрома, при условии, что взлетная полоса будет иметь достаточную длину (минимум три километра, чтобы он успел набрать скорость для отрыва от земли). В фазе подъема до высоты 40 км скорость аппарата достигнет десяти скоростей звука, что позволит HYPERSOAR, уже выключив двигатели, по инерции, подняться на максимальную высоту в 60 км и покинуть атмосферу. Пока только американские авиакомпании заинтересовались новым летательным аппаратом. Однако, в Ливерморской лаборатории надеются, что он сможет найти применение и в космонавтике, для экономичного запуска спутников на околоземную орбиту.
The computer we use at the institute.
Information science with the ideas and message of processing and storing information is of great importance today. That's why computer technology must be taught in institute. The new subject “basic information science” and “computing machines” was introduced for the students at institute. Contact with the machine increases the interest in learning, makes them more serious about studying new subject. Computers are used not only to study information science, but also for examination purposes. Young people who finish the institute must be trained to operate computers.

We are living in a society which is called "technologically civilized" society. Every small work we do is technology dependent. Today every other person is recognized with the device or gadget ,he carries; which is technically advanced. Ultimately , we can say that ,"living without technology is like living without air" in this technical world of today. Therefore, we are much dependent on technology. Technology made our lives simple but much dependent on it. We can sit in a corner and get connected to the world. Thus making the world a "global community." Communicate with a person in remote area within fraction of seconds ,make a trip of the world within no time, all these are possible with the advanced technology ,making us more dependent on its usage. Today , we don't find even a single young kid without using the available technology to him/her. Hence, technology plays a major role in our lives.
