Studies in the History of Gardens & Designed Landscapes

Studies in the History of Gardens & Designed Landscapes addresses itself to both professionals and those with a serious interest in the subject of landscape. It is one of the few journals that seeks deliberately to explore the topic internationally.

The journal’s main objective is on the detailed and documentary analysis of special sites anywhere in the world, with a focus upon the dialogue between design and reception. The journal seeks to situate specific analysis in the larger cultural context that includes social and cultural history, geography, aesthetics, technology (including horticulture) and conservation.

The journal publishes special issues handled by Guest Editors, on particular topics or themes drawn from conferences. The journal does not publish reviews, but review essays on a cluster of publications, may be proposed. All articles are subject to peer review after initial screening by the Editor and Associate Editor.

CoDesign

International Journal of CoCreation in Design and the Arts

The aims of CoDesign are:

·         to report new research and scholarship in principles, procedures and techniques relevant to collaboration in design;

-         to act as an international forum for discussion of collaborative design issues;

·         to foster communication between academic researchers and industry practitioners concerned with collaborative design;

·         to encourage a flow of information across the boundaries of the disciplines contributing to collaborative design;

·         to stimulate ideas and provoke widespread discussion.

CoDesign is inclusive, encompassing collaborative, co-operative, concurrent, human-centred, participatory, socio-technical and community design among others. Research in any design domain concerned specifically with the nature of collaboration design is of relevance to the Journal.

Research papers which present theory, report empirical studies, and describe and evaluate collaborative and participatory design methods, tools and techniques are welcomed. Papers reflecting on practical experience of collaborative design are also welcomed. Topics include collaborative design theory; collaborative design methods, techniques and tools; methods for studying collaborative design; studies of collaborative design; computer-supported collaborative design (CSCD) system requirements; CSCD systems, design and use; communication in collaborative design; computer mediated collaborative design communication; handling design issues (e.g. sustainability, competing stakeholder values, resilience, conflicting expectations and requirements) collaboratively, and managing collaborative design.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is double blind and submission is online via ScholarOne Manuscripts.

Architectural Engineering and Design Management

Informative and accessible, this publication analyses and discusses the integration of the main stages within the process of design and construction and multidisciplinary collaborative working between the different professionals involved.

Ideal for practitioners and academics alike, Architectural Engineering and Design Management examines specific topics on architectural technology, engineering design, building performance and building design management to highlight the interfaces between them and bridge the gap between architectural abstraction and engineering practice.

Coverage includes:

  • Integration of architectural and engineering design

  • Integration of building design and construction

  • Building design management; planning and co-ordination, information and knowledge management, vale engineering and value management

  • Collaborative working and collaborative visualisation in building design

  • Architectural technology

  • Sustainable architecture

  • Building thermal, aural, visual and structural performance

  • Education and architectural engineering

This journal is a valuable resource for professionals and academics (teachers, researchers and students) involved in building design and construction, including the following disciplines:

  • Architecture

  • Building Engineering

  • Building Service Engineering

  • Building Physics

  • Design Management and Design Coordination

  • Facilities Management

Published papers will report on both fundamental research dealing with theoretical work and applied research dealing with practical issues and industrial innovations. In this way, readers explore the interaction between technical considerations and management issues.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor, and, if found suitable for further consideration, will undertake peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is double blind and submission is online via ScholarOne Manuscripts
