4. Read the sentences and rearrange them according to the contest of the text. There is one extra sentence which you don’t need to use.
The vessel rolled and pitched.
And while we pumped the ship was going from us by pieces.
It was January, and the weather was beautiful.
There was for us no sky, there were for us no stars, no sun – nothing but angry clouds and an infuriated sea.
Then our ship began to leak.
We forgot the day of the week, the name of the month, what year it was.
Then the wind went round to the south-west, and two days later it blew a gale.
It lasted while we were sailing down the North Sea, all down the English Channel, and it lasted till we were three hundred miles or so to the west of the nearest coast.
The ship got a hole and leaked badly but the pumps were in good serviceable condition.
Day after day and night after night there was heard nothing round the ship but the howl of the wind and the noise of water pouring over her deck.
5. Pair work. Tell your study partner about the weather during the voyage and listen to his story about fighting the emergency. Both of you can add the omitted details to the stories.

The Future Indefinite Tense (будущее неопределенное время)
Future Indefinite (Simple Future) употребляется для выражения действия, которое произойдет в будущем.
Future Indefinite образуется с помощью вспомогательного глагола will + инфинитив смыслового глагола (без частицы to). В современном английском языке глагол will употребляется для образования будущего времени во всех лицах.
Утвердительная форма

Future Indefinite употребляется со следующими обстоятельствами времени: tomorrow завтра, the day after tomorrow послезавтра, soon скоро, next week (month, year) на следующей неделе(месяце, году), in a week (month, year, two hours) через неделю(месяц, год, два часа), in future в будущем, in the near future в ближайшем будущем, in 2012 в 2012 году, one of these days на днях.
